As you build your fantasy basketball lineups for tonight’s DraftKings contests, check out Zach Thompson’s top three NBA DFS stacks to target.

After a jam-packed weekend of hoops, the NBA has a small three-game slate to tip off the final week in February. The Spurs and Pistons start the action with the best game of the night, followed by the Grizzlies-Kings and Rockets-Jazz. None of the six teams is playing for the second day in a row and none play tomorrow, so back-to-back games are not a concern for any of the rotations. From this smaller slate, a few options stand out as top options to consider for NBA DFS stacks this Monday. “Stacking” is the strategy of including multiple players on your fantasy roster from the same team so that they can boost each other’s fantasy production in a favorable environment.

Even without back-to-backs in play, be sure to check out the daily injury report throughout the day, since some key names are uncertain. Especially at this point in the season, be sure to check the latest injury news before tip-off and adjust your lineup if needed.

Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz

The Rockets will look to bounce back from their road loss to the Knicks on Saturday, and they have a very soft landing spot at home against the Jazz. They have the highest implied team total of the six teams available this Monday, and they make a great stack against the Jazz, who allow an NBA-leading 125.9 points per game this season. For comparison, no other team has allowed more than 123 points per game. The Rockets don’t have any new injury issues to deal with or any questionable players, so it should be a relatively regular rotation for them in this smash spot.

Core Plays: The two big core plays to consider paying up for are Kevin Durant ($8,900) and Alperen Sengun ($9,000). Durant had 30 points and 42 FPTS on Saturday and was even better with 39 points and 59.5 FPTS in the first game after the All-Star break. He comes in with great recent form, while Sengun could actually have a better matchup against the struggling Jazz frontcourt. Sengun has been quieter with 33 FPTS and 36 FPTS, but he still brings a very high ceiling because of the matchup.

Value Options: Since Jabari Smith Jr. ($6,500) and Tari Eason ($6,400) have each had their salaries boosted over $6,000, the better value play from the Rockets is Reed Sheppard ($4,700), who has a more affordable salary and has still put up at least 28 FPTS in three of his last four games. He had a quieter game against the Knicks, but if this game gets lopsided he could get some extra playing time. Clint Capela ($3,400) is another viable bargain to consider since he could get extra minutes in a blowout. He would step into the same favorable matchup as Sengun if he gets extra minutes.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Sacramento Kings

The Kings and Grizzlies game may not be the most watchable even on this small slate, but the Grizzlies make sense to consider as one of the top NBA DFS stacks based on the matchup. The Kings have dropped 16 straight games and have allowed more points per game over their last 15 games than any other team in the NBA. The Spurs hung 139 on the Kings on Saturday after the Magic welcomed them back from the break with 131 points last Thursday.

The Grizzlies have had their own injury issues, but that opens up good value on the rest of their roster. The Grizzlies will remain without Ja Morant, Zach Edey, Cedric Coward, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Santi Aldama. Kyle Anderson is also doubtful. Without those key contributors, the Grizzlies should be a strong value stack with plenty of usage in this smash spot against Sacramento.

Core Plays: Ty Jerome ($6,000) is the only player with a salary of $6,000 or more who will play for the Grizz on Monday, and he’s a strong place to start the stack. He had 35 FPTS in 22 minutes on Saturday against the Heat and has averaged 34.8 FPTS in just 21 minutes per game in his seven games this season. His minutes are still being watched carefully, but he produces good numbers when he’s on the floor. Gregory “GG” Jackson ($5,500) has been the team’s other primary producer with 20+ points and 33+ FPTS in three straight games. On Saturday, he fell just one rebound short of a double-double and had 45.75 FPTS. He should continue to get all the usage and minutes he can handle with all of Memphis’s injuries.

Value Options: Along with Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,900) makes sense in the backcourt after having 18 points, six assists and 36.75 FPTS in 21 minutes on Saturday. He’s only played four games this season, but he has 27 FPTS in three of those games. Olivier-Maxence Prosper ($4,600) and Taylor Hendricks ($4,100) have flashed upside in the frontcourt, and with Anderson also unlikely to play, there should be opportunities in that spot as well. Walter Clayton Jr. ($4,300) missed Friday’s game but played Saturday and had 22.5 FPTS in 25 minutes before fouling out. Javon Small ($3,800) has also continued to make big contributions with at least 10 points in four of his last fivegames and over 38 FPTS in two of those contests.

Sacramento Kings at Memphis Grizzlies

The third option in Monday’s NBA DFS stacks comes from the other side of the Grizzlies-Kings game, since the Kings have plenty of value options stepping into bigger roles as well. The Grizzlies have been a great matchup to attack as they piece together their rotation, and both teams should end up with plenty of points and fantasy points this Monday.

The Kings will be without Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and De’Andre Hunter for the rest of the season. They also traded away some important rotation pieces at the deadline. They’re starting to give their younger players more run over some veterans to see who can be part of their next rebuilding phase.

Core Plays: DeMar DeRozan ($7,300) is the main veteran still anchoring the rotation, and he does have decent upside, although his salary is elevated over $7,000. DeRozan had 20 points and 33.75 FPTS against the Spurs in his return to San Antonio on Saturday. Rookie center Maxime Rayaud ($6,100) has been one of the few bright spots for the Kings and has posted three double-doubles in his last four games, with over 37 FPTS in each of those games. He had 38.5 FPTS in just 26 minutes on Saturday, so he should return value in this very favorable matchup against the Grizzlies frontcourt.

Value Options: Keegan Murray ($5,700) had exactly 30 FPTS in each of his two games since the All-Star break. He missed six weeks with an ankle injury but will help carry the offensive load the rest of the way. Devin Carter ($5,000) has shown some upside but only played six scoreless minutes on Saturday while Malik Monk ($4,600) got more time and had 32.2 FPTS. Veteran Precious Achiuwa ($4,500) has scored 14 points in each of his two games since the break, posting 40 and 26.2 FPTS. The Kings also added point guard Killian Hayes on a 10-day contract, but he is not in this player pool for Monday’s DFS contests.
