Zach Thompson details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Monday’s matchup between the Jazz and the Rockets.

The NBA has a trifecta of matchups this Monday night, finishing with a Western Conference matchup in Houston between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets. The Rockets took a tough loss on Saturday to the Knicks and will look to bounce back against the Jazz, who lost to Memphis in their only game since the All-Star break. Let’s break down both sides of the matchup and find some Jazz and Rockets player prop bets that make sense to add to your betting card.

The Rockets are heavy 13.5-point home favorites with the point total at 228.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Jazz rotation has been tricky to figure out since they’re not prioritizing winning, and the Rockets could turn this game into a blowout, making player props a little tricky to nail down. While the Jazz are 18-39 near the bottom of the conference, this is an important game for Houston, since the four teams between the No. 3 seed and the No. 6 seed in the West are all within one game of each other. Houston is in the middle of that pack at No. 4, but it has gone 18-7 at home. The two teams split their first two games of the season in Utah, with the Rockets winning 129-101 on Nov. 30 and the Jazz bouncing back to win 133-125 on Dec. 1.

Let’s take a look at some of the top player prop bets from both the Jazz and the Rockets in this Monday night matchup. These picks can be used as standalone plays or combined in a Same Game Parlay (SGP), as indicated at the bottom of the post.

Jazz at Rockets Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Ace Bailey O20.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-107)

The Jazz have been limiting everyone’s minutes and making some weird rotations, especially in the frontcourt. One of the few consistent pieces of their philosophy, though, has been giving plenty of work to Bailey, as they let their first-round pick from Rutgers grow on the job.

The 19-year-old has logged at least 30 minutes in seven straight games, going over this prop line in six of those matchups. He averaged 16.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists for an average of 24.1 PRA (points, rebounds and assists) over that stretch.

In his first game after the All-Star break, Bailey had 29 PRA against the Grizzlies, contributing 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in his 33 minutes. With Keyonte George out, he has stepped into a much more involved role, but George could return (more below) on Monday. Still, I think Bailey will get enough work and opportunities to go over this attainable PRA line on Monday.

Reed Sheppard o12.5 Points (-106)

Backing the Rockets’ bigger stars to score over their props is high-risk since the game could get lopsided in a hurry, but there’s also risk taking the under since whoever gets the opportunities should be able to get whatever they want against the Jazz’s struggling defense. Instead of targeting a big name, I’m going with Sheppard, who can fill it up off the bench, whether the game is lopsided or close.

Sheppard had 10 points on Saturday against the Knicks, but he went over this prop line in four straight games before that. Before attempting just five shots against the Knicks, Sheppard took double-digit shots in seven straight games and 13 of his previous 14.

With so many shots in the usual game flow, Sheppard should be able to get to 13 points against the Jazz on Monday. If the game gets lopsided, Sheppard could help absorb the minutes and usage in a blowout.

Keyonte George U15.5 Points (-113)

George is questionable with an ankle injury, so this pick will be a voided play if he’s ruled out. Even if he does come back, I expect his minutes to be extremely limited, and he’ll have to deal with defense from Amen Thompson. Even if he plays and starts, the Jazz don’t have much reason to push him at all, so I think he’ll end up under this point total.

Before his ankle injury, George was playing extremely well, and this prop would seem almost insulting. He had scored at least 19 points in seven straight games, including a 43-point performance against the Timberwolves. Unfortunately, though, he has only played one game since Feb. 1.

He sprained his left ankle on Jan. 30 and was ruled out for the next three games. On Feb. 7, he returned and played 13 minutes against the Magic. He scored just five points before leaving with a sprain of his other ankle.

With just 13 minutes over the last month and little trust in the Jazz allowing him to play big minutes, I think George will be under this point total if he returns on Monday.

Bonus Parlay Pick: Kevin Durant U4.5 Assists (-112)

If you’re building an SGP (Same Game Parlay) from this Monday matchup, adding in the under on KD’s assists boosts the odds to a strong +1100 for these four Jazz-Rockets bets.

Durant has been under five assists in six of his last seven games, and with a potential blowout leading to fewer minutes, I think he’ll be under five assists again on Monday.
