Since purchasing the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2012, ownership has put an emphasis on doing what’s best for the players and the organization.
Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center appears to be no different.

The team, along with partners the Cleveland Clinic and Bedrock, revealed interior renderings for the team’s new training facility based on the banks of the Cuyahoga River, slated to open in February of 2027.
“Every detail of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center was purposefully designed to fuel excellence—equipping our players with resources, innovation, and competitive edge required to pursue championships and help define the future of the game,” said Koby Altman, Cleveland Cavaliers president of basketball operations.

Here’s what to know about the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center:
Cleveland facility will dwarf one for Las Vegas Raiders in Nevada
The state-of-the-art baskeball court at Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center.
It will be the largest indoor practice facility for a professional sports team in the United States, dwarfing the largest NFL indoor complex of 150,000 square feet that currently houses the Las Vegas Raiders in Nevada.

Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will have approximately 210,000 square feet of space.
Who is designing the new performance center?
The facility is designed by Kansas City, Mo. firm Populous and interior design studio Pophouse, a Detroit-based organization.

The locker room at Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center features a spacious locker room for players.
Populous is responsible for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, home to several NFL games over the years, along with the infamous Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pophouse specializes in workplace, hospitality and retail design, who notably is working on the Nick Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Institute in Detroit’s medical district. They have also worked on the headquarters for Rock Ventures, the home for Cavs owner Dan Gilbert’s family of companies.

The performance center won’t just be used by the Cleveland Cavaliers
All athletes of every sport will have use of the facility through the Clinic, offering care for those who participate in all sports, delivering holistic care, injury prevention, nutrition and recovery along with performance analysis.
Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center is part of a downtown Cleveland puzzle
The practice facility is just part of a plan known as Bedrock’s The Riverfront, a development that will ultimately include new public parks, a Riverwalk and year-round waterfront opportunities. It is the first piece in Bedrock’s $3.5 billion investment in downtown Cleveland and the district near Tower City Center along the Cuyahoga River.
