Haynes reported the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, adding that Nurkic has experienced breathing and sleeping complications since fracturing his nose a few years ago.
Nurkic averaged 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.3 steals, while shooting 50% from the floor, 35% from three-point range, and 55% from the free throw line in 41 games this season. The Bosnian Beast will enter unrestricted free agency following the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.
Nurkic is one of three Jazz big men to be sidelined for the rest of the season. On Feb. 12, it was announced that Jaren Jackson Jr. would sit indefinitely following the removal of a noncancerous growth in his left knee. At the beginning of the season, fourth-year center Walker Kessler underwent left shoulder surgery and has not played since. The Jazz currently sit at 13th in the Western Conference with a 18-39 record.
