Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls still can’t get over their slump. They have lost their ninth straight game, and they are severely undermanned. After their loss against the New York Knicks, the Bulls now have five injured players. Two of those players, Zach Collins and Noa Essengue, are out for the season.

While there are still two dozen games left in the season, the Bulls need to get over their slump quickly. The Bulls sit at the 12th seed and are 3.5 games away from the last play-in spot. Chicago will soon go against the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and the Portland Trail Blazers – all play-in dwelling teams. So, they have a good chance of snapping their losing streak in the next three games.

Josh Giddey urges the Chicago Bulls to get out of their slump

Currently, Giddey leads the Bulls in points, rebounds and assists. He has garnered 18.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in 37 games played. The Australian point guard is the Bulls’ main facilitator. Unfortunately, he was struggling in their last game against the Knicks.

Giddey only made two field goals out of ten attempts, scoring only six points. He also grabbed two rebounds, six assists, and two steals, but was a minus-14 on the court.

Despite his subpar performance, Giddey was still the most vocal on the team. He was pushing the starters to set the tone for the rest of the team.

‘‘We’ve got to find ways to be way more competitive,’’ Giddey said after the game. ‘‘It starts with that first unit. We’ve got to set the tone. But we’ve got to find ways, one through 15, to get this thing on the right track.’’

It is known that the Bulls were among the busiest teams at the NBA trade deadline. At that time, they were on a five-game losing streak. They have not been able to overcome their struggles, as they have now lost nine straight.

It is clear that head coach Billy Donovan still wants the Bulls to be competitive despite their struggles. Giddey and the team can still turn things around by taking it one step at a time. The first step is to snap their losing streak, and they can go from there.
