The Boston Celtics are one of the hottest teams in the NBA currently, as they have won eight of their past nine games in the wake of their blowout victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. And while the C’s are rolling, one of their former players, Kendrick Perkins, isn’t exactly on a hot streak himself, as he recently got put on blast by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
Since retiring from the NBA as a player, Perkins has transitioned into the world of sports media, and he’s become notorious for his outlandish hot takes. Green recently found himself the subject of some criticism from Perkins after he failed to score a single point in the team’s loss to the Celtics after they returned from the All-Star break. When Green caught wind of Perkins’ comments, he quickly fired back at the longtime center.
“You’re not allowed to have a bad game anymore,” Green said in response to Perkins on “The Draymond Green Show.” “Yeah Perk, you never had bad games. We’ve seen you play, big gella. We’ve got your clips of your screen setting. We’ve got clips of your jump shots Perk. You playing big Perk. Careful, man. We can start pulling clips now.”
Perkins has gotten himself in trouble time and again with his bold comments, and he has once again made an enemy of Green by criticizing him for his struggles. It’s been that sort of season for the Warriors, but Green is never going to take this sort of criticism lying down. While he will look to shut Perkins up when he returns to the court next, Boston will square off against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
