The Sacramento Kings have never really been a destination, but they aren’t alone in that. Teams like the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, and New Orleans Pelicans have struggled to lure stars, although the Kings are certainly in that camp.
While all 29 NBA teams patiently await any news surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trade availability after the Milwaukee Bucks lost in the first round, the Kings are;t really in contention to land the Greek Freak, but are they the worst team in the running?

At least one expert thinks so.

In a recent list published by CBS Sports, the Kings were the 29th-best landing spot for the Greek Freak.
“They couldn’t convince De’Aaron Fox to stay but they’re convincing an MVP to stay?” asked Sam Quinn.
While the Kings are generally not expected to get involved in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, they could offer a better package than teams like the Portland Trail Blazers or Phoenix Suns.
The Kings can match salaries a variety of ways, have young players like Devin Carter, Keegan Murray, and Keon Ellis under contract, and have eight first-round picks to trade or swap.

Will the Kings be the landing spot for the best player on the trade market? No, but he could do a lot worse than Sacramento.
