Despite having Ja Morant on the roster, the Memphis Grizzlies are another team in need of a long-term point guard. Morant’s future in Memphis is certainly something in doubt, especially after sending Jaren Jackson Jr. to Utah. With that in mind, an excellent prospect that can fill his role long-term is Acuff. He possesses the upside and skill set to be the lead guard in their rebuild.
His shot creation and scoring abilities are more advanced compared to guys like Jaylen Wells and Cedric Coward, providing Memphis a boost in perimeter shot-making. Additionally, he has the playmaking skills to be the primary facilitator for the Grizzlies. Memphis can provide Acuff with numerous defenders who can hide his defensive deficiencies. Both Wells and Coward can provide the lengthy wing defense around him. Furthermore, a big like Zach Edey can be his safety net in the middle.
