The former “Big Brother” contestant and wife of Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard Alex Caruso suffered a mini-stroke last year.

The condition, caused by two vertebral artery dissections, came about after she got a massage with a Theragun.

After receiving the diagnosis, the NBA WAG did genetic testing to see if she had underlying conditions or disease factors that caused it.

She now has the results.

“We got the genetic testing back, and I do not have any of the genetic diseases that would cause like thinning of the arterial walls. I’m not a carrier for any of those, which was honestly such a relief to me. I didn’t know how much it was like weighing on me waiting for those test results,” Haliegh said in a TikTok video shared on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

“I’m negative for all of those disease markers, which is super, super exciting for me,” she continued. “So the vertebral artery dissections were inconsidered a direct effect of the massage that I got with the massage gun.”

Haleigh’s suffers severe headaches inside NBA arenas

Haeligh has now been moved from a neurologist to a neurosurgeon to support her recovery.

It doesn’t appear that Alex’s wife will need surgery. She’ll instead stay on blood thinners and repeat another scan in a few months.

However, her struggles are far from over.

One area that’s still been tough for her is sitting inside NBA arenas to support Alex on the basketball court.

“I’ve definitely noticed that the arena, it spikes my headaches,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s how loud everything is. I don’t know if it’s the lights. I don’t know if it’s the atmosphere, I don’t know if I just get more anxious.”

Haleigh and Alex were married in August 2025. They announced their engagement a year prior.
