Taj Gibson’s NBA career isn’t over just yet.
The 40-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal to play for the Memphis Grizzlies, returning to the league for his 17th season, per ESPN. Last season, Gibson played 37 games for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

According to ESPN, forward Kyle Anderson agreed to a contract buyout with the Grizzlies, which opened up a roster spot for Gibson. Anderson plans to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves after spending two seasons with them from 2022-24.
Throughout his NBA career, Gibson has played with the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, and Hornets. He’s averaged 8.4 points and 5.7 rebounds.

The Grizzlies are 21-36, and are the 11th seed in the Western Conference. They play the Mavericks on Feb. 27 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
