Jaylen Brown has been a catalyst for the Boston Celtics this season. Stepping into a starring role for the first time in his career, Brown has spearheaded the offense while also showing improvements as a creator for those around him. In a season where the Celtics were expected to struggle, they find themselves second in the Eastern Conference and are suddenly viewed as a potential postseason threat.
Of course, Brown has played a significant role in that success. In 52 games this season, he’s averaging 29.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists, shooting 47.9% from the field and 34.1% from deep. Speaking Brown’s name in the MVP conversation has become a normality in recent weeks, although he faces stiff competition to be viewed as a front-runner for the award.
Furthermore, Brown also faces competition for a spot in the All-NBA first team. That’s something Jeff Teague recently discussed on an episode of his “Club 520” podcast. Teague suggested that both Brown and Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will be fighting for the same spot, before debating which player deserves it more.
