The newest Bracketology from USA TODAY Sports has the Texas Longhorns Men’s Basketball team as a No. 9 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. As the season has progressed, UT has gone from out to the bubble to semi-secure. Saturday’s 76-70 win over rival Texas A&M at Reed Arena in College Station will go a long way to making sure Texas is part of March Madness.

Tramon Mark had 23 points and Dailyn Swain added 11 points and 10 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season, in the win over the Aggies. Jordan Pope scored 16 and Matas Vokietaitis added 14.

The Longhorns took an early lead, but A&M bounced back behind an 11-0 run and took the lead 24-20 with 5:43 left in the first half and went into the break up 30-29.

Texas regained the lead on its first possession of the second half and never looked back. By the end of the game, the Aggie faithful were streaming towards the exits with time still on the clock.

Texas travels to No. 20 Arkansas on Wednesday before hosting Oklahoma next weekend to finish the regular season.
