STORRS, CT (WFSB) – No. 6 UConn could move up a spot or two in Monday’s update of the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll.
The Huskies improved to 27-3 last week with a couple of big wins.

Meanwhile, Iowa State and Houston both lost. They were ranked above UConn as of the Feb. 23 poll.
UConn’s lopsided win over No. 15 St. John’s may help bolster its rank with one game to go in the Big East regular season.
The team followed that up with win on Saturday over Seton Hall, which as of Monday was seeded fourth in the conference.
Big East tie breakers may come into play
While the Huskies currently hold the top seed in the Big East with a game to go on their schedule, they are tied with St. John’s (23-6, 16-2) in the conference loss column.
If both teams finish with the same conference record, there are tie breaker rules.
St. John’s owns the primary tie breaker over UConn based on its record over common opponents, specifically Creighton. UConn suffered a loss to the Blue Jays on Feb. 18 while the Red Storm swept the series.
However, St. John’s lost to Providence earlier in the season.
If Providence finishes with the same league record as Creighton, or better, UConn gets the tie breaker.
That is, of course, assuming that both the Red Storm and Huskies remain tied in the loss column.
There are still games left to play
St. John’s has two games left against Georgetown and at Seton Hall.
UConn only has Marquette.
The game is in Milwaukee on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Fox has the broadcast.
