Gilgeous-Alexander scores 30 points to lead the Thunder past the Mavericks
Gilgeous-Alexander has scored at least 20 points in 59 consecutive road games, the longest streak in NBA history
EVERYBODY WELCOME INTO THE SHOW TONIGHT I AM BRYAN KEATING. IT IS TIME FOR CRASHING THE BOARDS. HANNAH HOOVER HAS THE NIGHT OFF. BEAR WITH ME A LITTLE BIT. MY VOICE IS A LITTLE BIT UNDER THE WEATHER. WE’LL MAKE IT THROUGH THE SHOW. WE GOT PLENTY TO TALK ABOUT. I THINK WE’LL START WITH THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER, WHO ARE ON THE ROAD TONIGHT AGAINST THE DALLAS MAVERICKS. SHAY GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER, SECOND GAME BACK AFTER HIS ABDOMINAL INJURY. LIKE HE NEVER LEFT. MAN A LITTLE STEAL AND FINISH FOR SGA. THUNDER GOT OFF AND RUN. AND HOW ABOUT CHET HOLMGREN? COME ON MAN YOU MAKE THE DWIGHT POWELL FALL DOWN CHET HOLMGREN WAS OUTSTANDING 19 POINTS NINE REBOUNDS. THAT’S THE ONE FROM SGA. COME ON MAN HE DOESN’T DO THAT A LOT. BUT WHEN HE DOES IT PRETTY SPECTACULAR. THUNDER WIN IT 100 TO 87 SGA PUT ON A SHOW. SO I THINK OKLAHOMA CITY TONIGHT THEY DIDN’T PLAY THEIR BEST. I WOULD SAY WORKMANLIKE FOR OKC. BUT I THINK THE ONE THING THAT STANDS OUT OF THE GAME TONIGHT IS THAT THEY’RE PLAYING THIS GAME IN DALLAS. IT’S A ROAD GAME FOR OKC, BUT WHEN THE MVP IS OUT THERE, THIS IS WHAT I’LL REMEMBER. MVP CHANTS RAINING OUT OF THE AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER IN DALLAS, TEXAS MVP CHANTS, WHICH AFTER THE GAME ON FRIDAY WHERE OKLAHOMA CITY BEAT THE DENVER NUGGETS. YOU WIN TODAY. YOU GOT 21 GAMES LEFT. SHAY GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER IS THE BETTING FAVORITE TO WIN THE MVP AGAIN. HE WAS SPECTACULAR. HE ALSO BROKE A RECORD. WE’LL BE WATCHING A COUPLE OF THESE. THE FIRST ONE HE BROKE TONIGHT 20 POINTS OR MORE IN 59 GAMES IN A ROW, 59 GAMES IN A ROW. BREAKS THE RECORD THAT WAS HELD BY WILT CHAMBERLAIN. WE’VE TALKED TALKED ABOUT THIS NEXT ONE A LOT. 20 POINTS OR MORE IN 123 STRAIGHT GAMES, FOUR AWAY FROM THE RECORD. WILT CHAMBERLAIN DID IT 126 TIMES. SO MVP CHANTS. I THINK THAT’S WHAT I’LL REMEMBER ABOUT THE GAME TONIGHT. IT GETS US, I GUESS, TO THE TOPIC THAT EVERYBODY’S TALKING AROUND HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY. IT’S THE GAME THAT HAPPENED ON FRIDAY. WE HAD A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING. THE THUNDER BEAT THE DENVER NUGGETS. BUT ROLL THE VIDEO. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED I MEAN COME ON LOU DORT GETS INTO IT WITH NIKOLA JOKIC. AND. IT WASN’T PRETTY. THE JOKER GOES DOWN. AND THEN HERE WE GO. BOY IT ALL BREAKS LOOSE. EVERYBODY’S ON THE FLOOR. JOKER GETS. SO FIRST TIME HE’S REALLY LOOKED LIKE THE JOKER LOU DORT WAS EJECTED. JOKIC AND JALEN WILLIAMS WERE GIVEN TECHNICAL FOULS. AND THEN AFTER THE GAME HEAD COACH MARK DAIGNEAULT SAID THIS. I KNOW LOU I KNOW YOKICH, I KNOW JWILL. I DON’T THINK ANYBODY’S TRYING TO HURT ANYBODY. THEY’RE JUST GREAT COMPETITORS. AND, YOU KNOW, THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT. IT JUST BOILED OVER. I THINK IT WAS NOTHING MORE THAN THAT. I WILL SAY THIS. IF A PLAYER GETS IF JWILL IS RUNNING UP THE FLOOR AND GETS TRIPPED, WE EXPECT A FLAGRANT TWO FROM THIS POINT FORWARD. YOU KNOW, THAT’S ALL. YOU KNOW, IF THAT’S THE PRECEDENT, IF THAT BECOMES A MALICIOUS PLAY AND FLAGRANT TWO IS THE LINE IN THE SAND ON THAT, WE WOULD EXPECT THAT IF IT’S JWILL, WE WOULD EXPECT THAT IF IT’S ANYBODY. AND IF THAT’S THE CASE, WE’RE GOOD, MARK SAYS. WE’RE GOOD AS LONG AS IT’S GOING TO BE OFFICIATED AT THE SAME WAY. I THINK THIS I’VE BEEN ASKED A LOT ABOUT THIS PLAY. IT WASN’T A GREAT PLAY FROM LOU DORT. IT WAS A RECKLESS PLAY. AND THAT’S THE ONE THING YOU’RE GOING TO GET FROM LOU DORT. I DIDN’T THINK HE SHOULD BE EJECTED. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLAGRANT ONE, NOT A FLAGRANT TWO. I THOUGHT HE SHOULD REMAIN IN THE GAME, BUT IT’S A RECKLESS PLAY. YOU DO GET THAT SOMETIMES WITH LOU. LOU DORT IS A BULL IN A CHINA SHOP, RIGHT? THAT’S HOW HE PLAYS BIG, PHYSICAL, DOES EVERYTHING. SOMETIMES YOU GET THE THEATRICS. HE’S NOT A DIRTY PLAYER. IF YOU’RE A NUGGETS FAN OR NUGGETS PLAYER, I CAN SEE HOW YOU MIGHT THINK LOU KIND OF CROSSES THE LINE OCCASIONALLY. I DON’T THINK HE’S A DIRTY PLAYER, BUT HE’S A RECKLESS PLAYER AT TIMES. THAT WAS A RECKLESS PLAY. I DON’T THINK HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN EJECTED. I THOUGHT HE SHOULD HAVE REMAINED IN THE GAME. BUT AFTER THE GAME, MARK SAYS IF IT’S GOING TO BE OFFICIATED THAT WAY ON FRIDAY NIGHT, THAT’S HOW WE SHOULD OFFICIATE THE GAME. IF IT’S OFFICIATED THAT WAY ALL THE TIME, I THINK YOU’RE GOING THAT’S NOT AN ABNORMAL LIKE PLAY IN A LOT OF WAYS. BUT THE REACTION, THAT’S WHAT YOU GOT RECKLESS FROM LOU DORT. BUT I DON’T THINK INTENTIONAL. ONE OTHER TOPIC WE WANT TO GET TO TONIGHT IS THE SPURS BATTLE WITH OKLAHOMA CITY. AND WE’RE TIGHT IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE. THE SPURS PLAYED TODAY AGAINST THE KNICKS WON, BREAKING THE SPURS 11 GAME WINNING STREAK. AND SO THAT’S GOOD NEWS FOR OKLAHOMA CITY BECAUSE THE RACE IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE IS TIGHT. THE THUNDER NOW LEAD THE WESTERN CONFERENCE BY THREE GAMES. THREE GAMES WITH 21 YET TO GO. AND SO MY QUESTION TONIGHT IS WHAT IS YOUR LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE. THE THUNDER WILL WIN THE WEST IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE. AND I WILL ASK THAT QUESTION WITH ANOTHER QUESTION. IF THE THUNDER ARE GOING TO WIN, IS SGA HEALTHY? YES OR NO? IF SGA IS HEALTHY, THEY’RE GOING TO WIN THE WEST. THEY’RE GOING TO WIN THE WEST. IF SGA IS HEALTHY, IF HE’S NOT HEALTHY, THEN ALL BETS ARE OFF BECAUSE THE MARGINS ARE JUST NOT THERE. AND THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS ARE AWFULLY GOOD. NOW WE’LL SEE WHAT THEY’RE LIKE IN THE PLAYOFFS. BUT THE THUNDER ARE GOING TO WIN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE. IF GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER IS HEALTHY, I EXPECT JALEN WILLIAMS TO COME BACK MAYBE THIS WEEK AND MAYBE BY SATURDAY WHEN THEY HAVE THE WARRIORS HERE ON ON ABC RIGHT HERE ON CHANNEL FIVE ON SATURDAY NIGHT. SO THAT’S THAT’S OBVIOUSLY GREAT NEWS FOR OKC. BUT IF HE’S HEALTHY I CERTAINLY LOVE THE THUNDER’S CHANCES TO WIN THE WEST AND WOULD EXPECT
