Former Dallas Mavericks guard Tyus Jones is close to finding a new NBA home.
According to ESPN and The Denver Post, Jones has agreed to sign with the Denver Nuggets for the rest of the 2025-26 season. The move comes a few days after the Mavericks waived Jones.
The Mavericks originally acquired Jones when they traded Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards. Jones appeared in only eight games with the Mavericks, averaging 16.6 minutes per game with 3.9 points and 3.8 assists.
By waiving Jones, the Mavericks paved the way to convert rookie Ryan Nembhard’s two-way deal to a standard contract.

In Denver, Jones would serve as an experienced ball-handling option behind Jamal Murray. Denver would be Jones’ seventh stop in the NBA. He previously played in Memphis, Minnesota, Phoenix, Washington and Orlando.
