DETROIT — Amid greater uncertainty in the sports broadcasting landscape, the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings announced Monday the launch of Detroit SportsNet, the home for 2026 Tigers and Red Wings broadcasts starting in the 2026-27 season.

In-market customers will be able to access the broadcasts through both cable/satellite packages and direct-to-consumer streaming.

Customers can subscribe to streaming packages for either $19.99 a month or $189.99 per year, with Tigers games being available through the MLB app. Details on how to watch 2026-27 Red Wings games through the shared subscription are expected at some point this summer.

The Tigers and Red Wings, both under the Ilitch Sports + Entertainment ownership group, announced their broadcast partnership with MLB last month, leaving their previous home under Main Street Sports Group. MLB will provide broadcast support for both franchises, though the Red Wings are likely to handle most game productions in-house.

Detroit SportsNet is expected to exist as a standalone channel for cable and satellite subscribers, though a Monday news release from Ilitch Sports + Entertainment said discussions with distributors are ongoing.

“Once agreements are finalized,” the release said, “a list of providers carrying Detroit SportsNet and specific channel assignments will be shared.”

Red Wings play-by-play voice Ken Daniels and color analyst Mickey Redmond and Tigers play-by-play announcers Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson and analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petry are all expected to continue in their current roles, as are broadcast reporters Daniella Bruce and Logan Reever.

Tigers, Red Wings and Detroit Pistons games were previously broadcast via FanDuel Sports Network. Red Wings coverage will continue on FanDuel Sports Network through the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

As of now, Pistons games are not expected to be part of the Detroit SportsNet package.
