PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns are finally getting past the injury bug, as their superstar shooting guard is ramping up for a return in the near future. Head coach Jordan Ott spoke with the media on Monday about Devin Booker’s injury status. The 29-year-old suffered a hip injury during the February 2nd game vs. the San Antonio Spurs and has missed four straight games. In the past 15 Suns game, Booker has only appeared in three due to this hip injury.
However, Ott confirmed that the five-time All-Star is making steady progress and is in a good spot for a potential return for Tuesday’s game vs. the Sacramento Kings.

Ott gives positive news on a potential Booker return:
Since Booker suffered the hip injury, Phoenix is 7-8, but it got a much needed win vs. the Los Angels Lakers in its last game to end a 1-4 stretch. The franchise remains the seventh seed with a comfortable 3 game cushion over the eighth-seeded Golden State Warriors. The team isn’t satisfied with that, as it takes its attention towards the sixth-seed Los Angeles Lakers, that are two games ahead of the Suns.

Getting out of the Play-In tournament is top priority for Phoenix, but to achieve that goal it needs Booker. In the final 22 games, the Suns have the seventh easiest schedule remaining, playing some teams tanking for a top pick. The franchise doesn’t play a Playoff team until March 13th at the Toronto Raptors, so Ott could play it safe and rest Booker ahead of an upcoming six-game road trip.
