Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are reportedly preparing to make a strong push to recruit LeBron James to the Golden State Warriors in free agency.
James is poised to enter unrestricted free agency for the first time since 2018, placing renewed focus on his future as he nears his 42nd birthday in December.
Sources suggest the Warriors’ veteran leaders intend to actively pursue the four-time Finals MVP once the offseason begins. The possibility of such a move sets the stage for a potentially transformative summer.

Warriors stars planning aggressive recruitment
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green maintain a close relationship with LeBron James, and Green shares representation with him through Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group.
According to Lakers Daily, Curry and Draymond are planning to pitch a move to the Warriors for LeBron next season.
Golden State explored a trade for James during the 2023-24 campaign, underscoring prior interest.
James has previously expressed openness to playing alongside Curry and Green, and the trio captured Olympic gold together with Team USA in Paris in 2024 under head coach Steve Kerr.
The Warriors’ pursuit could intensify after Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL in January, creating uncertainty at the wing position entering next season.
Multiple pathways in free agency
League observers widely expect James to either remain with the Los Angeles Lakers or consider a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Yet Golden State remains a realistic option given the personal ties involved. The Bay Area’s proximity to Los Angeles could also help James stay close to his family.
The Lakers are believed to be shifting toward a roster built around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, a development that may factor into James’ decision.
Whether Curry and Green’s recruitment effort ultimately sways the future Hall of Famer will unfold once free agency officially opens.
