The Miami Heat are entering a crucial five-game stretch to make a playoff push, beginning with the first of two straight home matchups against the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

Miami is 1-0 against the Nets already this year and will try to sweep their three-game season series by this weekend. The Nets are coming into the night with a tanking 15-45 record, sitting at the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference. They have lost eight of their last 10 games.

Following a statement win against a West contender this past weekend, Miami is looking to string together wins in this next stretch of games and will have a great opportunity to get off on the right note against a struggling team like Brooklyn. The Heat are still without Norman Powell due to a groin injury, but they assuredly have enough to handle the Nets regardless. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo are going to have more responsibilities in the team’s offense to make up for Powell’s team leading 22 points per game.

Since January 13, Adebayo is averaging a 21.7 points and 10 rebounds double-double. Additionally, he has averaged 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals on efficient 57% true shooting and 37% from 3-point range with a plus/minus of 187. He’s had 11 double-doubles in this span, including a 24 points and 11 boards outing in their most recent win over the Houston Rockets. He’s been playing like the three-time All-Star the Heat desperately need while anchoring the defense on a nightly basis.

Can Adebayo and Miami secure their second straight win tonight? Let us know in the comments!
