There’s no shortage of excitement in Dallas for the Mavericks’ star rookie Cooper Flagg.

His teammate Max Christie thinks its warranted too.

Christie spoke to The Sweet Spot on 96.7 FM/1310 The Ticket(KTCK-AM) on Wednesday about how Flagg has performed so far and what he thinks the future holds for the 19-year-old star.

Christie’s quotes have been lightly edited for length and clarity.

Christie: “He’s been phenomenal. He’s super young, obviously, just turned 19 and just his poise and his tenacity and his willingness to continue to get better, his willingness to continue to be present.

He’s been nursing his foot recently, hopefully, looking forward to having him back soon. But even though he’s been out his presence, again, around the team, his charisma, his young energy that he brings to the team. (It’s) something that we all benefit from, something that we all enjoy being around. And I think obviously his game speaks for itself. Obviously, someone that can really do anything on the floor. Someone that can really defend at a high level, someone that can handle the ball. His shot’s coming along very consistently here

I think he’s just going to continue to get better and better, right? And the ceiling? There is no ceiling for him. Sky’s the limit, and so it’s been a pleasure to continue to play with him, to be around him. I would love to be a part of a future with him, and just continue to build a relationship with him.”
