The Hornets out here just smacking the Celtics around disrespectfully, 118 to 89 in a game that frankly didn’t even feel that close.

There was already a ton of hype on this show.

We’re already all decked out in the Hornets gear.

But the question is, after what you saw last night, Busby, is it start, is it time to start considering the Hornets the actual threat in the East?

A threat to the teams that actually are a threat.

I’m not sure that they’re actually ready to take the East yet, but as they showed last night by knocking off Boston with, without any real trouble, they are the team that you’re gonna be wanna be You’re gonna be very scared to play once the playoff co- comes around.

They’ve got They’re 20 and 2 with their current starting five.

They are a young team.

They’re a fun team.

They’re a team that you like to watch.

They’re a team that has that vibe, that something special.

It may not be this year, but this is a team that you’re gonna be watching for the next couple of years.

Yeah, you’re right.

And look, you see it right there.

Charlotte’s won six straight games, each by 15 or more.

The thing of it is, I, I, I’ve become infatuated, Busby, with this, this concept.

As much as we all remember this era of the NBA where the, the trick was to go out and sign the biggest players and trade for the biggest players, we find ourselves every year talking about Giannis un- until we’re out of breath, right?

But I look at the, the real success we’ve seen in the NBA, and right now transcendent success comes from this whole draft, development, and depth, right?

That’s the thing I keep saying.

I watched last night, and I was watching a team that when they shoot this well, when they are that on fire, I don’t know how you stop them.

But Boston didn’t have any answer at all, and this is a team that just moves the ball around so much.

They play with such energy.

They just went out and whooped the snot out of the Celtics.

And I think what we saw was a reminder that a, a young basketball team has an incredible ceiling if you get the right pieces together the right way, and that’s what it feels like Charlotte’s done.

It To me, it’s about the fact that when they get that hot, I don’t know how you stop them.

These two teams entered this game as the top two teams in net rating since January 1st.

And again, I can’t stress this enough, the Celtics got worked.

They got taken behind the shed, and they got embarrassed.

I try not to put too much weight in any one regular season NBA game, but when you’re talking about the second day of a back-to-back for both of these teams.

You’re talking about some travel difficulties for Charlotte.

They didn’t even get in, until around 4:00 in the morning.

They had a quick turnaround.

They come in, and they play with legs like that.

I just watch that and think, “Yeah, that’s what I want in a long playoff series.”

I’m not sure that I’m gonna say that the Hornets are, are ready to go to the NBA finals.

Like, playoff basketball is so different than regular season basketball.

But Busby, I certainly watched a team last night that I thought, “Man, if they get hot, they can beat any of the teams in the East in a seven-game series for sure.”
