The Golden State Warriors are getting some reinforcements just in time.

Ahead of Saturday’s road game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported that both Seth Curry and Kristaps Porzingis have been upgraded to questionable. Neither is guaranteed to play, but both worked through recent on-court sessions and have a legitimate chance to return. Will Richard and De’Anthony Melton are also listed as questionable.

For a Warriors team that has been operating well below full strength for weeks, the update is a welcome one.

Seth Curry has not played since early December. A sciatica issue has kept him sidelined for more than three months, making Saturday a potential return after one of the longer absences of his career.

The timing could not be better. Stephen Curry remains out with runner’s knee and did not travel with the team on this road trip. Golden State ranks just 14th in three-point percentage this season, and Seth Curry’s career 43.3 percent shooting from deep is exactly the kind of spacing this offense needs. His debut back in December — 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting against Oklahoma City — was a reminder that the ability is still very much there.

Before Thursday’s overtime win over the Houston Rockets, Curry was spotted working out on the Toyota Center court alongside Porzingis. ESPN’s Anthony Slater shared the footage, and the sight of him drilling corner threes was enough to raise hopes of an imminent return.

At 35, Seth Curry has plenty to prove. He has barely featured this season and his future beyond this summer remains unclear. A strong run of games down the stretch could change that conversation entirely, for Golden State and for the rest of the league.

Porzingis has been one of the more frustrating storylines of the Warriors’ season. Acquired from the Atlanta Hawks on February 5, he debuted February 19 against the Boston Celtics, playing 17 minutes and scoring 12 points while flashing the skill set that made him such an appealing trade target. A smooth shooter with range extending well beyond the arc, a finisher who punishes smaller defenders in switches, and a rim protector who alters drives — the sample was brief, but it was enough to show what he can add.

Then the illness returned. He has missed the last six games and was ruled out pregame last Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers after appearing to be on track to play. Kerr struck an optimistic tone after Thursday’s win in Houston.

“It’s great that he’s here and great that he’s feeling well enough to be on the trip,” Kerr said.

Draymond Green was equally measured about the situation postgame Thursday.

“When a guy is hurt or sick or whatever, there is no one around here pressuring you. We don’t move like that,” Green said. “When he’s healthy he’ll be out there. You’ll get back when you can get back and we know it.”

Across 18 games this season — 17 with Atlanta and one with Golden State — Porzingis is averaging 16.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three.

What It Means for the Warriors

The potential returns of Seth Curry and Porzingis could not come at a better time. Moses Moody will miss his second straight game with a right wrist sprain. Golden State has been piecing things together with two-way players and sheer determination, and while Thursday’s overtime win in Houston showed this group’s resilience, reinforcements are needed for the stretch run.

Tip-off Saturday against the Thunder is at 8:30 p.m. EST. The Warriors will have most of the day to assess both players before making a final call.

Final Word for the Warriors

Thursday’s win in Houston was built on toughness and depth. Healthy versions of Seth Curry and Porzingis change the ceiling of what this team can do down the stretch.

Neither return is guaranteed yet. But for the first time in a while, the injury news is trending in the right direction.

Golden State could really use some good timing right now. Saturday might just deliver it.
