The Minnesota Timberwolves’ season came to an end in the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Across the five games of the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder were the superior team against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards was unable to keep up his heroics from the previous rounds, averaging 23 points after posting 26 points per game during the Warriors and Lakers series.

Edwards received some criticism during the series, partly in connection to his postgame comments after Game 4 where he denied he had a bad game.

Despite all of this, Edwards has the total respect of his teammates who regard him as the centerpiece of the team and the key to their success.

Donte DiVincenzo was asked about Anthony Edwards in his exit interview following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ elimination.

DiVincenzo spoke about what he has learned about Anthony Edwards since he was traded to Minnesota.

The former Knicks star responded to say that getting close with Edwards on a personal level has been an eye-opener.

He explained: “He’s a great dude. How old is he, 23, I’m not saying it like I’m 50 but for a young kid, he is so charismatic and cares about his teammates and just wants to have fun.”

“And when you are around that every day that energy just wears off on everybody. It rubbed off on the coaches, the players, the staff.”

DiVincenzo added: “You want to come in and have a good day. You know he is going to come in with a smile on his face, and that’s the fun side of everything.”

DiVincenzo praises Anthony Edwards’ work-rate

Donte DiVincenzo added that the most impressive part of playing alongside Anthony Edwards is seeing how hard he works behind the scenes.

“And then you learn that dude is an animal, how hard he works,” DiVincenzo added.

“We were talking through the year and he said ‘last year I wanted to work on my three ball’, and then he goes and leads the league in threes.”

And in reference to comments after the Timberwolves’ elimination, he said: “When he says last night nobody is going to work harder than him, you can bet my money nobody is going to work harder.”
