Jerami Grant led Portland (31-35) with a game-high 24 points, Deni Avdija added 22 points and seven assists, and Scoot Henderson scored 17 on 6-of-10 shooting.

Portland opened the game on fire as they used a 26-8 run over the final 9:38 of the first to build a 34-20 lead at the end of one. The Trail Blazers connected on 7-of-12 from three-point range in the first.

Portland led by nine at halftime before the Hornets started their comeback. Charlotte used a 9-2 run at the end of the third and a 10-3 run to start the fourth to retake the lead for the first time since the first quarter. Hornets led by one with 7:27 to play.

With the Blazers down one, Jerami Grant was called for an offensive foul on Kon Knueppel on a drive to the basket with 12.8 seconds to play. The Hornets called timeout to discuss their options. Miles Bridges was fouled with 9.0 seconds remaining. He hit both free throws to put Charlotte up 101-98.

After a timeout to advance the ball, the Trail Blazers turned the ball over on the inbounds play and the Hornets hold on for the win
