The Western Conference playoff picture is getting crowded, and the Los Angeles Clippers might be the team nobody wants to see in a seven-game series. After a rocky start to the 2025-26 season, the Clippers have stabilized their play, leaning on veteran leadership and a healthier roster.
That caught the attention of Paul Pierce, who fired back at Luke Kornet over his call to ban the Atlanta Hawks-Magic City collaboration. The Hall of Famer has been vocal about the Clippers’ postseason upside, pointing to their improved ball movement and lineup flexibility.
Pierce doubled down on that belief during a recent appearance on the NFG Show, with the clip circulating on March 11 via NBA Courtside on X. The former Celtics star argued the Clippers’ evolving style makes them a brutal matchup in the postseason.
“Originally I thought when they traded James Harden in the middle of a great run they were on, that they were throwing in the towel. Then I look with the additions they got in Bennedict and Darius Garland. I actually like they way they play, the free flow style play because before they was so dependent on James Harden pick
and roll to make plays for pretty much everybody and if he didn’t have it give it to Kawhi. Were as now it’s more free flowing you don’t have Zubac clogging up the middle as much because now you have guys who spread around the floor around the perimeter that can knock down shots.”
