The Los Angeles Lakers appear ready to show major confidence in Austin Reaves, with reports suggesting the franchise is prepared to offer a massive contract that could make him the highest-paid player in team history.
The undrafted guard has become one of the most important pieces of the Lakers’ core over the past few seasons.

Los Angeles Lakers plan a massive Austin Reaves contract offer
According to a report from Lakers Daily, the organization is preparing a huge long-term offer for Austin Reaves once the guard hits free agency this summer.
“The Los Angeles Lakers plan to offer Austin Reaves a five-year, $240 million contract this offseason once unrestricted free agency begins,” the report revealed.
“Reaves will decline his player option for next season to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason,” it added.

If the reported deal becomes reality, it would represent one of the largest contracts ever handed out by the Lakers and reflect just how valuable Reaves has become to the franchise.
The guard entered the NBA as an undrafted player in 2021 but has steadily developed into one of the team’s most reliable scorers and playmakers.
Los Angeles Lakers have no fear stance on Austin Reaves future
The report also indicates the Lakers are extremely confident about keeping Reaves despite the potential competition he could attract on the open market.
“The Lakers have ‘no fear’ of losing the talented undrafted guard, who wants to spend his entire career with the Purple and Gold,” the report further added.

That stance reflects the strong relationship that has developed between the franchise and the young guard since he joined the team.
Reaves has repeatedly spoken about his appreciation for the Lakers organization and the opportunity he was given after going undrafted.
If the reported contract materializes, it would represent one of the most remarkable rises in recent NBA history, transforming Reaves from an overlooked prospect into potentially the highest-paid player in Lakers history.
