The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Boston Celtics on Thursday. This will be the first matchup of the season between the two squads.

The Thunder (51-15) had a blockbuster 129-126 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stamped his MVP case with 35 points and 15 assists. He hit the game-winner on a stepback 3-pointer.

Meanwhile, the Celtics (43-22) couldn’t overcome Jaylen Brown’s early ejection in a 125-116 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. Derrick White had 34 points and seven assists against his old squad.

Pritchard at the buzzer for the 3-pointer. Gilgeous-Alexander has 17 points. Three away from NBA history. But the Thunder need to play better in the second half. The Celtics came to play, even though they’re undermanned.

Williams throws a laser to Wiggins for the layup. An incredible pass to fit into a small window. Celtics call a timeout.

End 1Q: Celtics 28, Thunder 27

Pretty poor finish to the quarter for the Thunder. They have five turnovers already. Gilgeous-Alexander has three alone. Need to do a better job at that. Plus, knock down their outside looks as the Celtics go all out to stop Gilgeous-Alexander.

1Q, 5:34 left: Thunder 16, Celtics 11

Gilgeous-Alexander finds Holmgren for the easy dunk. Now it’s the Celtics’ turn to call a timeout. Thunder starting to play better offense.

Starting lineups:

The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Ajay Mitchell, Lu Dort and Chet Holmgren. The Celtics will start Payton Pritchard, Baylor Scheierman, Sam Hauser, Jaylen Brown and Neemias Queta.
