The Cleveland Cavaliers (40-26) and Dallas Mavericks (22-44) meet Friday at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, at 7:30 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Cavaliers vs. Mavericks and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: First meeting; Cavaliers won 2-0 last season
Cleveland covered the spread in both games between these teams last season, winning the two games by a combined 55 points. The most recent was a 144-101 win in Cleveland, with the Cavs easily covering the 15.5-point spread. Cleveland C Evan Mobley posted a combined 56 points, 21 rebounds and 6 blocks in the two games. The Over hit in both games, as well.
Cleveland is coming off a 128-122 road loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, failing to cover as 3-point favorites. G James Harden led the Cavaliers with 30 points and 8 assists as the Over (226.5) cashed.

Cavaliers at Mavericks picks and predictionsPrediction
Cavaliers 122, Mavericks 108
AVOID.
The Mavericks are coming off a win, but lost 8 in a row previous to that. Although I like the Cavaliers to win comfortably, they are 5-5 over their last 10 games, making it too risky to bet such a steep moneyline.
AVOID.
The Mavericks are 3-6 ATS across their last 9 games while the Cavaliers are 3-5-1. With neither team being very consistent in this department as of late, I’m avoiding here, as well.
BET UNDER 236.5 (-105).
The Cavaliers have hit the Under in 4 of their last 5 games while Dallas has gone below the total in 8 straight games. Cleveland is averaging 118.8 points per game this season while the Mavericks average 113.1, which doesn’t even get us to 232 total.
