The Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday afternoon to begin a back-to-back over the weekend looking to get back in the win column. The Sixers are coming off a 131-109 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday and will need to take advantage of a lowly Nets team.
As far as Joel Embiid is concerned, the big fella will remain sidelined due to a right oblique strain. Coach Nick Nurse mentioned in Detroit after the loss that Embiid is working out, but he hasn’t progressed to on-court work just yet. That will be the big step forward that the Sixers need to see from him before they can clear him to return to the floor.
Paul George (league suspension), Tyrese Maxey (right finger tendon strain), Kelly Oubre Jr. (left elbow sprain), and Johni Broome (right knee surgery recovery) are all out.
Adem Bona (back soreness) and Andre Drummond (back spasms) are listed as questionable.
Even without Embiid–and Maxey, George, and Oubre–the Sixers should be able to find a way to knock off the Nets. It has been a trying season for Brooklyn and Philadelphia will need to take advantage in an effort to pick off wins.
