Scoot Henderson finished with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting and Jrue Holiday added 25 points and seven assists as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Utah Jazz 124-114 Friday night at Moda Center.
Donovan Clingan had a big night. He finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds, and seven blocks.
The Jazz wasted little time getting to work on Friday night as they exploded in the first to build a 33-15 lead. Utah led 38-22 with 2:18 to play in the first, but Portland responded with a 25-2 run that spanned into the second quarter to take a seven-point lead.
The Trail Blazers led the rest of the way but the Jazz made it interesting. Utah used a 7-0 to cut the Portland advantage to just two with 2:01 in the third.
The Jazz once again cut the Blazers lead to three with 8:16 to play but a Portland 13-5 run provided enough cushion to secure the victory.
With the win, Portland (32-35) improved to 4-0 on the season against Utah.
Turnovers once again a major problem for Portland. The Trail Blazers committed 24 turnovers leading to 38 points for the Jazz. Portland was -13 in points off turnovers.
