—– Quentin Grimes scored a game-high 31 points and VJ Edgecombe added 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 109-103 Sunday afternoon at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

Disappointing start to the road trip for the Trail Blazers!

Quentin Grimes scored a game-high 31 points, Justin Edwards added 21, and VJ Edgecombe finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers topped the Portland Trail Blazers 109-103 on Sunday afternoon.

Deni Avdija finished with 25 points and nine assists and Jerami Grant added 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting for Portland.

Portland (32-36) started the game strong. They scored the first nine-points and built a 14-5 lead, but Philadelphia (37-31) used a 19-5 run to take a three-point lead into the second quarter.

The Trail Blazers led by one at halftime but the 76ers used a 7-0 run in the third to take control of the game and led by six after three.

Portland scored the first six-points of the fourth to tie the game, but Philadelphia used an 11-2 run to build a 14-point lead with 5:34 to play. The Trail Blazers responded with 10-straight to cut the deficit to four but couldn’t get any closer the rest of the way.

Portland committed 13 of their 19 turnovers in the second half leading to 16 points for the 76ers, 24 for the game.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow in Brooklyn against the Nets. The tip off is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
