The Memphis Grizzlies look to end a seven-game losing streak when they face-off against the Chicago Bulls for the first time this season in this non-conference matchup on Monday night. Chicago isn’t in a much better situation, looking to avoid losing three in a row and four of its last five. Only four games separate these two in the win column, with the Grizzlies 11th in the West and the Bulls 12th in the East. The problem for both clubs, especially Memphis, is that it is dealing with a plethora of injuries. Just two games ago against the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis had more players on the injured list than dressed for the game. They signed Tyler Burton from the G League to a 10-game contract just to make up for it, with the Grizzlies missing 11 players due to various injuries. Not much has changed for the Grizzlies in this matchup, but the Bulls aren’t exactly healthy either, with Collin Sexton listed as a game-time decision with a lower leg injury, while Anfernee Simons is listed out with a wrist injury. The Bulls and Grizzlies will play the season series finale in Memphis on March 28.

The Bulls lost back-to-back games after a 119-108 road loss against the LA Clippers on Friday. Kawhi Leonard scored a game-high 28 points and Bennedict Mathurin added another 26 to tie the season series in the finale against Chicago. It was LA’s fourth win in a row, with the Bulls falling to 3-4 after losing 11 straight. Tre Jones led the team with 21 points, while Josh Giddey secured his 11th triple-double of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. That game ended a five-game road trip and Chicago will start a four-game homestand tonight.
Memphis’ losing streak continued Friday, losing 126-110 to the Detroit Pistons to get swept in the season series 2-0. Jalen Duren scored 30 points and put up 13 rebounds for the Pistons and Cade Cunningham also put up a double-double with 17 points and 15 assists. Javon Small led the Grizzlies with 23 points, but the Grizzlies weren’t in the game much in the second half, trailing by as much as 22 before Detroit emptied the bench. This losing streak doesn’t look like it is going to end soon until Memphis gets much healthier quickly.
