Guard

Stud

Amen Thompson, Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks ($8,100)

Over the last 10 games, Thompson has put up at least 40 FPTS in all but two games with three of those over 50 FPTS. There was a reprieve five games ago when he finished with 36.8 and 29.2 FPTS, but he’s back to the stat-stuffing ways with 52.5, 43 and 51.2 FPTS. Thompson has been a force on the glass the last three contests with 11, 12 and 12 boards while scoring 23, 19 and 26 points. Teams have been doubling Kevin Durant, leaving seams and opportunities to cut for Thompson. The defensive contributions will always be there. Despite Atlanta being second in defensive efficiency over the last 15 games, the Hawks are fifth in pace, and uptempo matchups are perfectly suited for Thompson. This game should be a close, competitive affair so Thompson could see 40 minutes of run, something he’s done in each of the last three games.

Other Options: Jalen Brunson ($9,500), Jaylen Brown ($9,000), Derrick White ($7,300), Ty Jerome ($6,900), Ayo Dosunmu ($6,200), Payton Pritchard ($6,100)

Value

Daniss Jenkins, Detroit Pistons vs. Golden State Warriors ($5,500)

Cade Cunningham is out for this one, so Daniss Jenkins could get the start. Even if he doesn’t, Jenkins should play a significant amount of minutes, and he’s thrived in an expanded role. Across eight starts this season, he has averaged 14.8 points, seven assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 31.4 minutes per contest. He cleared 30 FPTS in five games during that span, including two performances over 40 FPTS. This is the second leg of a back-to-back with Thursday’s matchup against Washington, but he is young and has fresh legs.

Other Options: Marcus Sasser ($5,400), Toumani Camara ($5,200), Bones Hyland ($4,700), Nolan Traore ($4,100), Baylor Scheierman ($3,800), Landry Shamet ($3,600)

Forward

Stud

Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks at Houston Rockets ($10,600)

Johnson has leveled up into the penthouse tier for fantasy. He’s second in the NBA with 13 triple-doubles and is now a threat to mess around on any given night. Over the last seven games, he’s put up at least 50 FPTS in five with two over 60 FPTS. In the two games he “missed,” Johnson finished with 48.8 and 42.8 FPTS. Houston plays slow and is one of the best defensive teams in the league, but over the last 15 games, the Rockets are only 15th in defensive rating. This game should be a close one so Johnson should play a full allotment of minutes.

Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,200), Jaylen Brown ($9,000), Jayson Tatum ($8,500), Deni Avdija ($8,400), OG Anunoby ($6,800), Jabari Smith Jr. ($6,500), Tobias Harris ($6,300), Ayo Dosunmu ($6,200)

Value

Josh Minott, Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks ($3,500)

There is risk with Minott in terms of both production and playing time, but the price mitigates some of it. With Noah Clowney out, Minott should see at least 20 minutes in this one. That said, Jordi Fernandez does have a plethora of options. Over the last three games, Minott has played 24, 22 and 17 minutes, finishing with 19.8, 19.5 and 42.2 FPTS.

Other Options: Mikal Bridges ($5,700), Toumani Camara ($5,200)

Center

Stud

Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks ($8,600)

The range of outcomes is wide for Sengun recently, which makes me squeamish. He’s failed to hit 40 FPTS in five of the last seven games with two in the 20-FPTS range. He has gone for at least 50 FPTS twice, though. I like him to approach the higher end of the range in this one because the game should be a competitive one and Atlanta likes to play fast, so there should be plenty of opportunities for fantasy goodies. In addition, he has a size advantage over Onyeka Okongwu.

Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,200), Onyeka Okongwu ($7,000)

Value

Robert Williams, Portland Trail Blazers at Minnesota Timberwolves ($4,600)

Williams likely won’t play more than 24 minutes, with a lean more towards 20 minutes. That said, he averages 1.00 FPTS per minute and should see all the non-Rudy Gobert minutes. Williams should be able to do work on the glass against the backup bigs for Minnesota and he’s also a presence on defense. He’s put up over 20 FPTS in each of the last six games with a high of 42.2 FPTS.

Other Options: Neemias Queta ($5,900), Olivier-Maxence Prosper ($4,900), Mitchell Robinson ($4,300), Josh Minott ($3,500)
