The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had a double-digit winning streak since the 2019-20 season, which was the last season during which they won the NBA championship. On Monday, they will look to extend their current winning streak to 10 games when they visit the Detroit Pistons in the fifth game of their six-game road trip.

They defeated the Orlando Magic 105-104 on Saturday thanks to Luke Kennard’s last-second 3-pointer. Luka Doncic was assessed his 16th technical foul of the season during that contest, but that technical foul was rescinded by the league on Sunday, so there will be no automatic one-game suspension for him.

While Doncic is expected to play, Rui Hachimura, Marcus Smart and Maxi Kleber are all listed as questionable. Kleber has missed L.A.’s last seven games and has been dealing with a back strain.

For Detroit, Cade Cunningham, its superstar player, will be one of three players who will not play. Cunningham was diagnosed with a collapsed lung a few days ago and will miss at least two weeks of action as a result.

The Pistons have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 51-19, and they have won three in a row despite Cunningham’s absence.
