The Los Angeles Clippers may need to get creative if they re going to fill all of their needs this offseason.

The team needs a guard they can partner with James Harden, a power forward they can dependably start, a backup center, and somewhere in there they need to add scoring.
Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale proposed an interesting way for the Clippers to fill a couple of their needs this offseason.

In a recent article, Favale suggested the Clippers should work their way under the first apron to open up the $14.1 million mid-level exception.
Favale then named Houston Rockets center Steven Adams as a player they could use part of the MLE on and still have enough of it left over to sign a playmaker.
Adams missed the entire 2023-24 season after having surgery on his PCL. When he was able to return, he found himself in a new role and playing as a backup for the first time since his rookie season.

He only averaged 13.7 minutes, but was able to make solid contributions in his limited role. Adams averaged 3.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game.
His per 36 minute averages were 10.2 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
The Clippers don’t need a big man that is going to have a big role for them. Ivica Zubac played 32.8 minutes per game for them this past season.
What they need is somebody who can have an impact during the minutes where Zubac is off the floor.
Adams could definitely be that guy for the Clippers if they can open that mid-level exception up for themselves.
