The Golden State Warriors received a key update ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, with Kristaps Porziņģis not listed on the injury report and expected to be available.

Porziņģis’ absence from the report indicates he is set to play, providing a boost for a Warriors team navigating a critical stretch of the regular season while dealing with multiple injuries across the roster.

Golden State’s injury report includes several key absences. Stephen Curry remains out with right patellofemoral pain syndrome, while Moses Moody has been ruled out for the season due to a left patellar tendon rupture. Al Horford (right soleus strain), Seth Curry (left adductor strain), Jimmy Butler (right ACL surgery) and Quinten Post (right foot injury management) are also unavailable.

Recent Production Shows Growing Role

Porziņģis is coming off a strong performance in the Warriors’ 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks, finishing with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes — his highest minute total since joining Golden State.

Through his first eight games with the Warriors, Porziņģis is averaging 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks in 21.4 minutes, reflecting efficient production in a managed role.

Road Trip Showed Porzingis’ High Ceiling

Porziņģis flashed a higher ceiling during the Warriors’ recent six-game road trip, particularly in matchups against former teams.

He delivered a season-high 30 points in a win over the Washington Wizards, shooting efficiently while adding three blocks and two steals. In that game, he became the first Warrior since Kevin Durant in 2018 to record at least 30 points, three steals and two blocks in a single outing.

He followed that with an all-around defensive showing against the Boston Celtics, recording multiple blocks early and finishing with 11 points and four combined steals and blocks in 22 minutes.

The stretch concluded with his 22-point performance against Dallas, where he showcased his ability to score at multiple levels, including efficient finishing in the paint during the second half.

Season Production Adds Context

Across the season, Porziņģis is averaging 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 blocks, highlighting his role as a versatile scoring and rim-protecting option.

His ability to operate as a three-level scorer while anchoring defensive possessions gives Golden State added flexibility, particularly with several perimeter players sidelined.

Matchup to Watch

Porziņģis is expected to be matched up against Nic Claxton, who is averaging 11.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 blocks.

The matchup presents a stylistic contrast between Claxton’s mobility and interior defense and Porziņģis’ size and perimeter-oriented scoring, which could influence spacing and tempo.

Nets Eliminated but Competitive

Brooklyn enters the game with a 17-55 record and has already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Despite an eight-game losing streak, the Nets have remained competitive, including a one-point loss to the New York Knicks and a four-point defeat against the Sacramento Kings.

Warriors Focused on Play-In Push

Golden State (34-38) remains in the Western Conference play-in picture, holding a 9.5-game cushion over the New Orleans Pelicans for the No. 10 seed.

The Warriors are also chasing the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 8 spot, which would provide two opportunities to secure a playoff berth.

Porzingis’ Availability Could Be Key

With multiple rotation players sidelined, Porziņģis’ expected availability gives Golden State a critical frontcourt option as it continues its push toward postseason positioning.

His recent performances — particularly during the road trip — highlight the potential impact he can have when healthy and given extended minutes.
