The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to have all their guys fully healthy since the acquisition of James Harden. Jarrett Allen is still out with an injury. Still, the Cavs have been 14-4 with Harden on the court. Each of the Cavs’ most important guys has looked great next to Harden, especially Evan Mobley.
In the Cavs’ most recent game, their Big 3 looked very impressive. In the win over a hot Orlando Magic team, the Cavs had four players score at least 19 points. Donovan Mitchell had 42 points and was lights out as he seemingly couldn’t miss. James Harden was a perfect complement to Mitchell with his 26 points and 7 assists. Evan Mobley was right behind the two with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and he did not miss a single shot.
The Big 3 looked great, and they all fed off of each other. The Cavs have now won four straight games and are ending the season with a special kind of momentum. Last season, the Cavs had the best record in the Eastern Conference, but it still did not feel like this.
Jarrett Allen’s return should be around the corner, and he should fill in his role and not miss a beat. If this is the Cavs team that shows up in the playoffs, not only can they come out of the East, but they can hold up pretty well against whoever comes out of the West. Not many teams are playing as well as Cleveland right now. Boston has cooled down, and Detroit is dealing with the loss of Cade Cunningham right before the playoffs. The Cavs should be the current favorite to win the East as things stand right now.
