After finishing regulation with a score of 95-95, the Houston Rockets led by as many as 13 points in overtime against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Julius Randle and company staged a 15-0 run to turn things around and secure a 110-108 victory.
Randle led the Timberwolves in the win with 24 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Jaden McDaniels had 25 points, while Rudy Gobert registered a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds on top of five blocks.
Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun scored 30 points each for the Rockets, but the monumental collapse in the final three minutes of overtime ultimately doomed them.
The game wasn’t without issues, though. In fact, there were plenty of officiating mistakes in the closing stages of the game.

According to the NBA’s Last 2 Minute Report, there were a total of six referee errors in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime.
Three of those mistakes favored the Rockets, including an incorrect non-call in the fourth quarter that should have been ruled an offensive foul on Sengun. This occurred when Sengun set a pick and hit Randle with one minute remaining on the clock.
The other incident involved a stoppage of play with 1:14 remaining on the clock in overtime, when the Rockets were awarded possession despite the fact that Sengun was the last person to touch the ball before it went out of bounds.
Furthermore, with 3.3 seconds remaining, Randle was called for a foul on Durant. The NBA said it was an incorrect call. Fortunately, while KD got two free throws, he missed both.
As for the Timberwolves, they benefited from an incorrect non-call with 1:10 remaining in OT. Kyle Anderson apparently fouled Durant while he was trying to pass the ball, causing him to lose it.
In the same sequence, Donte DiVincenzo gathered the loose ball for the steal. However, the NBA said he should have been called for a kicked ball violation since he hit the ball with his right foot twice to gain possession.
Finally, with 33 seconds left, Randle should have been called for a loose ball foul on Jae’Sean Tate when both players were positioning for a rebound. Randle was seen putting his hands on Tate’s shoulders, which restricted him from pursuing the rebound.
Unfortunately for both teams, nothing can be changed despite the errors. The Timberwolves improved to 45-28 on the season with the win, while the Rockets fell to 43-29.
