The number 487 marks the number of days since the X account “Podziemski’s Gravity” last posted.
Their last post issued a somewhat lighthearted challenge to third-year guard Brandin Podziemski, writing that they wouldn’t tweet again until he scored 30 points.
Unfortunately for the account holder, Podziemski has come close on a couple of occasions, even reaching 28 points last season, and hitting 29 in February. However, he has yet to hit that threshold and release the fan from the shackles that they placed on themselves. The third-year guard out of Santa Clara was also apparently oblivious to the challenge until Thursday.
After an Instagram account posted that Kristaps Porziņģis and Gui Santos had each dropped 30 points with the Warriors, it also wrote: “Podz is next.” With this alluding to the Viral post, Podziemski took to the comment section with the query of why everyone wants him to score 30.
With Steph Curry, Seth Curry, Moses Moody and Al Horford all missing time due to various injuries, now may be Podziemski’s best shot in hitting that mark due to how many shots are available.
His next opportunity to end the X user’s sentence about not posting until he scores 30 comes tonight, as the Warriors will host the Washington Wizards, who are tied for the second-worst record in the NBA.
