See the latest injury update for Raptors guard RJ Barrett, who headed to the locker room early during Friday’s game against the Pelicans.
UPDATE: RJ Barrett has checked in for the second half vs. the Pelicans.
Toronto Raptors standout RJ Barrett suffered an apparent injury during Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans and is in the locker room.
Shortly before halftime, Barrett went for a rebound under the basket and collided with Zion Williamson. He spent a moment on the ground before getting up and heading back to the locker room. He does not yet have an official injury status.
RJ Barrett took a hard (inadvertent) hit from human battering ram Zion Williamson as the former Duke teammates battled for a rebound. Took him a while to get up and was walking on his own, but went straight to the locker room. Looked like it may have been his shoulder.

Barrett played 16 minutes prior to the injury, scoring 10 points with four rebounds and three assists.
In the event Barrett does not return or misses any extended time, the Raptors will miss his presence. He averages 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 30.0 minutes a night as an integral piece of this playoff-bound team. With postseason seeding absolutely still on the line, the Raptors will need every bit of help they can get over the coming weeks.
Toronto holds a 40-32 record prior to the conclusion of Friday’s game vs. the Pelicans. The team sits sixth in the Eastern Conference as things currently stand.
