The Minnesota Timberwolves will get back on the court Saturday, after a three-day break that did not help them get healthier. In fact, the status report that dropped Friday, ahead of tomorrow’s home contest against the Detroit Pistons, didn’t just have Anthony Edwards listed as “OUT”… but Jaden McDaniels too.

So, the Wolves will be extra undermanned Saturday against the Pistons, who at 53-20 have pretty much locked up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately for Naz Reid, his bank account will be slightly undermanned too.

Naz Reid fined for questioning integrity of NBA official Scott Foster

This, after the NBA announced Friday night that Naz Reid — who was ejected with 4:13 remaining in overtime of Wednesday’s win over the Houston Rockets — is being fined $50,000 for the altercation; or more specifically, “for questioning the integrity of game officials.”

“NEW YORK, March 27, 2026 — Minnesota Timberwolves center-forward Naz Reid has been fined $50,000 for questioning the integrity of game officials, it was announced today by James Jones, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

The incident, for which Redi received a technical foul and was ejected, occurred with 4:13 remaining in overtime of the Timberwolves’ 110-108 win over the Houston Rockets on March 25 at Target Center.”

Most players appeal their fines, whether deserved or not. We’ll see if Naz Reid does the same. Before he was ejected, Naz Reid scored 14 points on 5/13 shooting (2/5 3PT) with 13 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in 31 minutes played. The Minnesota Timberwolves were a -8 while he was on the floor.

What did Minnesota Timberwolves’ sixth man of the year say?

Exactly what was said between Naz Reid and official Scott Foster earlier this week is up for debate. According to the official press release above, whatever the 26-year-old out of LSU said was worth, not just of an ejection, but a fine too.

The only video evidence we have of the altercation shows Reid chirping at Foster as he walks by. There are some out there who read Naz’ lips as saying, “Scott, stop that shit bro.” However, after running it back way too many times to be proud of, I’m pretty convinced Naz says, “Scott, stop cheatin’ bro.” You be the judge.

does not appear to show Reid saying anything that would warrant his ejection last night, let alone a fine to double down on the “infraction.” In fact, it seems pretty clear and obvious that he says, “Stop that shit, bro. He’s moving.”
