Kristaps Porziņģis becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason and it looks like he wants to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors.

According to Warriors insider Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, early impressions indicate that Porziņģis wants to play for Golden State next season.

“Though Porziņģis, 30, is not publicly campaigning for a chance to re-sign with the Warriors, early impressions indicate he’s already considering it,” Poole wrote. “He’s attracted to the opportunity to play alongside Stephen Curry, and he is a believer in the team’s medical and training staff, led by Dr. Rick Celebrini.”

The Warriors acquired Porziņģis from the Atlanta Hawks in the Jonathan Kuminga trade. Porziņģis hasn’t played with Curry yet, as the NBA’s all-time leader in 3s has been out with runner’s knee.

Porziņģis is looking forward to playing with Curry, who is expected to return to the Warriors’ lineup soon.

“He has changed the game,” Porziņģis said of Curry. “To be on the same team, just to be around him, even without playing, it’s pretty cool. To learn from him, hear how he sees the game, it’s something you don’t take for granted.”

Porziņģis has played in 10 games with the Warriors. He’s averaging 17.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field, 31.5% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors will be in the NBA play-in tournament this year. It will be intriguing to see if Porziņģis and Curry can lead Golden State to the 2026 playoffs.

Porziņģis has played for the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, Hawks and Warriors. He holds career averages of 19.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. The one-time All-Star won the 2024 championship with the Celtics against the Mavericks.
