PHOENIX – From an undrafted free agent to potential a franchise leader, Phoenix Suns guard Collin Gillespie is on the verge of history Saturday night vs. the Utah Jazz. The 2025-2026 season is the former Villanova guard’s third season and first opportunity as a starter, and he hasn’t disappointed. The 26-year-old is averaging 13.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds on 41.9% from beyond the arc, including a nearly historic number of made 3-pointers.

With nine games left of the season, Gillespie is surely going to break the record. However, Saturday’s matchup is the team’s final home game before a four-game road trip. Making franchise history in front of a home sellout crowd would be the best way to celebrate making franchise history.

This season, Gillespie has only made six and more 3s five times, but three of those instances have occurred in the past two months. He is playing the best basketball of the season as of late, and against the worst defense in the NBA with Utah, Gillespie has his best opportunity to let it fly.

Phoenix hasn’t played Utah since the beginning of the season in October. Regardless, in those two games, Gillespie averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds on 42.1% shooting from beyond the arc on 19 attempts. He only made four three-pointers respectively in each of those games. Gillespie will need to raise his play on Saturday to make history in front of his home fans.
