Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic was given his sixteenth technical foul of the season on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Doncic will miss Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards due to the technical foul he received for getting into it with Nets forward Ziarie Williams.

The Lakers superstar ended up pushing Williams, as video showed, while Williams then hit Doncic in the face, leading to a double technical foul.

Doncic was actually given his 16th technical foul against the Orlando Magic when he started talking with Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze, but the NBA removed the technical foul after the Lakers appealed to the league.

Doncic will lose $264,000 in salary and be put on notice for the rest of the year. He will be suspended for every two technical fouls that he gets until the end of the regular season.

The Lakers will sorely miss Doncic on the court. He is averaging 39.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 2.5 steals in his past 12 games.

However, the Wizards are the same team that allowed Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo to score 83 points, meaning the Lakers will still be a strong favorite, especially if LeBron James and Austin Reaves are ready to go.

More importantly, Doncic will be back for Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a better team with playoff hopes.
