Luka Doncic #77 of the Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are once again facing a potential Luka Doncic suspension following their victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, March 27.
As Doncic picked up a 16th technical foul in an incident with Brooklyn’s Ziaire Williams, Doncic is set to miss the Lakers’ matchup against the Washington Wizards next Monday, barring any changes.
Following the game, Doncic reacted to the situation, explaining what happened from his point of view.
“He was in my face three times. I just wanted to get out of there,” Doncic told reporters after the game.
“It’s a double-tech, of course. What can I say? I didn’t even talk. I just wanted to get out of there. They said that I pushed. My push was exaggerated, which was obviously not. I don’t know what else to say.”

While the incident didn’t cause a big spectacle, Doncic and Williams looked to exchange some words before the Lakers’ star gave the Nets veteran a slight push.
Williams quickly reacted with a swipe to Doncic’s face, which led to players flying over and getting in between Doncic and Williams to prevent the situation from escalating further.
Both players finished the game.

Doncic was already having a big scoring night against the Nets before the incident. He was teasing 40 points early on in the fourth quarter.
By the end of the game, Doncic had produced 41 points in 39 minutes of action. The star guard shot 15-25 from the field, going 5010 from beyond the arc. He was a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line.
Along with his scoring, Doncic contributed eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block. He was a plus-19 on the court in the Lakers’ dominant 116-99 win.
With that victory, LA moves to 48-26 on the season.

The Lakers will get the weekend off from games before returning to the court on Monday, March 30, to fire up a back-to-back set. The two-game stretch begins with the Washington Wizards.
Doncic is on pace to miss the game, which is a notable loss for the Lakers. However, the Wizards have been struggling all season long. Heading into the weekend, the Wizards hold a 17-56 record. They are 13th in the Eastern Conference, with just one win over their last 10 games.
Doncic is clearly frustrated knowing he’ll have to miss some action, but the star guard will be well-rested for a challenging matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers next Tuesday.
