The Dallas Mavericks have been suffering from a bad patch for the last couple of seasons. With their star player, Luka Doncic, being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, the team hasn’t looked the same since. Thankfully, they got some respite after Cooper Flagg joined them. But despite his impressive showing, it was not enough to pull the team out of the hole.Â
Currently seeded 13th in the East, the Mavericks are doubtful even for a play-in berth now. Thus, as per head coach Jason Kidd, winning the Rookie of the Year award will be of utmost priority for the 19-year-old. The team had been on a five-game losing streak. Thankfully, squaring off against the Portland Trail Blazers, they fortunately snapped out of the lean patch, winning 100-93.Â
But one win alone will not be enough to combat the Minnesota Timberwolves. Riding on the back of Anthony Edwards’ fine form, Minnesota is looking on course for a playoff berth. Although some cryptic remarks from Edwards raised eyebrows, things seem to be fine by now. Unfortunately, his knee injury means that Edwards might miss out on Monday’s game. But after losing their last game 87-109 to the Detroit Pistons, the Timberwolves will be eager to get back to winning ways soon.Â
