The Grizzlies report that wing Jaylen Wells sustained the injury on March 23.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies have announced that another player will be undergoing a season-ending surgery.

On Sunday, the Memphis Grizzlies reported that wing Jaylen Wells will undergo surgery on his right big toe.

The Grizzlies report that Wells sustained a tendon avulsion fracture in his toe during the March 23 away game against the Atlanta Hawks. He’s been out of the lineup since.

Wells, who was a finalist for 2024-2025 Rookie of the Year, has averaged a little more than 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist over 69 games this season.

Wells is the latest in the string of Grizzlies players who reportedly will not play for the rest of the season. Six players have been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season, including All-Star point guard Ja Morant, center Zach Edey, and forward Brandon Clarke.Â
