The Rockets and Suns meet one more time, April 7, in Phoenix in Kevin Durant’s return game.
With eight games left, Phoenix has just a 2 1/2-game lead on the Los Angeles Clippers, who have won their past five games. The Suns and Clippers split their four-game season series.
The next tiebreaker, which would determine home court for a play-in matchup with the Clippers, is division record (the Suns are 10-6; the Clippers 8-6) and then conference record (the Suns are 26-21; the Clippers 22-23).
The top six teams in each conference advance to the playoffs, while the 7-10 teams compete in the play-in tournament for the seventh and eighth seeds.
