—— Deni Avdija finished with 20 points and seven rebounds and Scoot Henderson added 21 points and seven assists as the Portland Trail Blazers win in dominant fashion over the Washington Wizards Sunday afternoon at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

After a tough loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, the Portland Trail Blazers responded with a dominant 123-88 win over the Washington Wizards Sunday afternoon at Moda Center.

With Jerami Grant out of the lineup Sunday (Calf), Scoot Henderson was moved into the starting lineup and proved a boost for Tiago Splitter. Henderson finished with 21 points and seven assists on 6-of-11 shooting.

Deni Avdija proved to be a tough cover for his former team. He finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Portland (38-38) got off to a slow start. Washington tied the game in the second at 39 but a 14-4 run late in the half gave the Trail Blazers an 11-point halftime lead.

The Trail Blazers put the game away with a 22-2 run in the third that pushed their lead to 27. Tiago Splitter cleared his bench early in the fourth after they scored the first 14-points of the fourth and took their largest lead of 39.

With the Clippers win in Milwaukee earlier on Sunday, the Blazers remained 1.5 games back in the Western Conference standings with the showdown in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers travel to meet the Clippers at Intuit Dome Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8:00 PM.
