On the cusp of the 2026 NBA playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced something that’ll happen later on down the road — hopefully with back-to-back banners being ready to get unveiled at Paycom Center around the Halloween season.
The Thunder announced on Monday that they will return to Tulsa’s BOK Center for a 2026-27 preseason game. They will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The rest of the preseason schedule will be announced at a later date.

Good to see the Thunder return to Tulsa after a one-year hiatus. They traditionally play at the BOK Center for a preseason outing. This will be the 16th time in 19 seasons. That didn’t happen this past year due to scheduling conflicts with the venue.
Of course, the Thunder is Oklahoma’s sole professional sports team. That means their fanbases stretch beyond just OKC. A 90-minute drive up north, Tulsa is the state’s second-biggest city. So it makes sense to pay a visit there once a year.
